Elizabeth Horton (née Becker) is the Director of Administration, International Student Management Office, National Defense University. As the Director of Administration, Elizabeth serves as the NDU subject matter expert on all aspects of security assistance and security cooperation programs, overseeing the policy, plans, regulations, and budgets that govern international student programs at all five NDU colleges. She oversees ISMO’s administrative operations in support of over one hundred resident international students from more than sixty countries, including their transition to the US, housing arrangements, monthly living allowances, dependent school registration, medical support and return home. Prior to her current position Elizabeth served as a Program Specialist for six years, working primarily on the transition of incoming students, field studies and special events coordination.
Elizabeth holds a Master’s in International Relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies with a minor in Chinese from Dickinson College. Elizabeth spent her junior year abroad at Peking University in Beijing. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoys cheering for the hometown sports teams, keeping up with her Chinese, traveling, and spending time with her husband.
